Veritas Sr. Principal Product Marketing Specialist – Competitive Intelligence in Augustine Drive, United States
As a Sr. Principal Product Marketing Specialist - Competitive Intelligence, for the industry’s leading data protection company, you will analyze competition and develop competitive technical product marketing comparisons, product positioning and messaging, SWOT comparisons and other deliverables in support of Veritas sales strategies by:
- Identifying the information that your stakeholders require on the competition, or the competitive environment
- Using only legal and ethical best practices that conform to antitrust and trade secret laws, and Veritas’ corporate code of behavior, collect required data and information
- Analyze that data, converting it into actionable intelligence
- Communicate the intelligence to the various entities within Veritas including sales, pre-sales, engineering and product management
The top candidate for this position will be a subject matter expert and will have demonstrated extensive technical product knowledge in data storage technologies for a variety of use cases - including on-premises private cloud, public cloud, analytics (such as Hadoop, and Splunk), containers, archive, long term retention and remote DR and replication for both hardware and software defined storage (SDS) solutions. As such, this role requires proven product, technical, market and specific vendor knowledge in addition to possessing strong familiarity with the general storage market trends, evolving technology and real-world customer objectives and requirements.
Timely communications of focused and applied competitive intelligence along with your general market awareness will be included in deliverables comprising competitive comparisons, internal videos, webinars, product training, selling strategies, customer briefings, and more. Your competitive intelligence will be used to support business unit product strategies, and content in response to specific product/selling pressures and/or corresponding competitive product launches and announcements. In this role you will be instrumental in driving field success, market awareness, and account wins on a global basis, with corresponding widespread visibility of your efforts and contributions.
A successful applicant will be a gifted verbal and written communicator with a distinct passion for learning new storage technology and doing what it takes to deliver timely information for customers, product management and the selling organizations. You will have a successful track record in understanding technology (macro) and technical product features/details (micro) that delineate Veritas’ best in class storage solutions from competitive offerings
